There’s a new flavor of Spam in town and it pairs perfectly with everything from waffles to Brussels sprouts. Spam Maple Flavored is rolling out on grocery store shelves now, bringing the brand’s total varieties to 11. While many Spam flavors, like the original, Spam Hot and Spicy, or Jalapeño, are on the savory side, the brand has released sweet flavors in the past. Allrecipes editors tried the pumpkin spice variety with mixed reviews, so we were skeptical about this new Maple Spam.

“This is by far my favorite-to-date product that we have launched,” says Jennesa Kinscher, a senior brand manager at Spam. “It’s because it just makes sense. When you think about Spam, one of the natural usages that you think about is during breakfast.”

But TikToker Jill Castlen, better known as Mama Jill on the social media platform, broke the internet a few weeks ago when she shared a video saying she seasons hot dogs before grilling them. “Apparently it’s controversial and apparently I’m weird,” Castlen says in a TikTok that’s been viewed more than 1.5 million times. “My saying is literally it’s not seasoned till you’re sneezing, but everybody’s surprised that I season my hot dogs before we grill them.”

“If you’ve never had seasoned, grilled hot dogs,” she continues, “start doing it.”

Move over WaterTok, TikTok creators are moving their quests for hydration out of their kitchens and into the fast food drive-thru. While millions of TikTokers have been sharing flavored water combinations made at home using sugar-free drink mixes and syrups, some have been visiting their local Sonic instead, posting their “Sonic water” orders made with sugar-free flavors and fresh fruit.

As a mom of two, my relationship with Dollar Tree has changed throughout the years. A store I once only visited for birthday party favors or Easter basket fillers has become a place my tween likes to shop for makeup and hair accessories or, thanks to TikTok, a shopping destination I visit for supplies for the occasional DIY project. But in recent years, I've started picking up more and more of my weekly groceries at Dollar Tree as well.
