The Kitchen Staple That’s Becoming More Popular Than Ever, According to a New Study

There’s a misconception that the frozen food aisle contains nothing but heat-and-eat pizzas and cartons of ice cream, but there are also plenty of healthy items in your grocer’s freezers.

In fact, because products like frozen fruits and vegetables are often harvested at peak ripeness, you’ll often find lots of nutrients tucked away in the frozen foods aisle, too. We’ve long been fans of products like frozen cherries, spinach and edamame, so the latest study findings from the American Frozen Foods Institute make sense to us.

I've shopped at Dollar Tree for 20 years. Here are 12 products I swear by getting at the budget chain.

I remember the good old days when everything at Dollar Tree really did cost $1.

In recent years, the chain has raised prices to as much as $1.50 per item, and added a selection of premium merchandise that costs even more — just as much as chains like Five Below or Dollar General.

'Bridgerton' Star Yerin Ha’s Favorite Comfort Food Is a Korean Classic

There’s something incredibly comforting about a delicious bowl of stew. And, whether it’s a silky bowl of Guingambó Guisado, a Puerto Rican okra stew, or a simple dish of Asopao de Gandules, the meal provides even more coziness when it's a recipe that’s been handed down through generations or passed from friend to friend. Case in point: Bridgertonstar Yerin Ha’s go-to comfort food, a classic Korean stew she has fond memories of her mother cooking.

Margot Robbie's "Last Supper" Is So Relatable

It’s a popular question that gets asked in plenty of celebrity interviews: If you knew you were about to eat your last meal on Earth, what would it be? For some, it’s an extravagant steak dinner with all the fixings, while others think of simple pleasures like the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The answer can tell a lot about a person, from easy things like their favorite food to deeper information about how they grew up.

While promoting the film Wuthering Heights, Australian actor Margot Robbie appeared on the Table Manners podcast, where she chatted with hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware about everything from her favorite pasta dish (spaghetti bolognese) to the creative way her family made nachos growing up (Doritos topped with baked beans and cheese, warmed in the oven). And, of course, Robbie was faced with the all-important question of exactly what her “last supper” would be.

We give our teenagers more experiences than gifts for Christmas. It brings us closer as a family.

When my kids were little, we embraced the magic of Santa Claus. Christmas morning meant lots of presents to unwrap, some from mom and dad, and plenty from Santa. Still, we valued giving our kids experiences, as well. When grandparents and other relatives asked for holiday gift ideas for our kids, we'd always suggest things like a membership to our local zoo or movie theater gift certificates — gifts that would provide us with time together as a family instead of sending more stuff into our house.

A Week of Cooking Julia Child’s Recipes Led Me to This Surprising Discovery

As a new mom trying to work, parent and still maintain my sense of self, I joined a book club. One of our first reads was Julia Child’s My Life in France, and while I couldn’t uproot my life and move to Europe to pursue a love of cooking with a 1-year-old, I lived vicariously through Child’s stories of learning to cook and discovering a love of food. Later, I read Julie and Julia, a book about one writer’s attempt to cook her way through Child’s Mastering the Art of French Cooking. I was among the first in line to see the 2009 movie version of Julie Powell’s novel and can still remember the day I found my own vintage copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking at a thrift store, complete with handwritten, dated notes in the margin from a woman who cooked from it in the ’60s.

We took our teenagers to New York City and acted like total tourists. It was the perfect way to see NYC with them.

It'd been a decade since my kids visited New York, but given their love of theater and big cities, it wasn't surprising when they recently started asking my husband and me to take them. My family relocated to Floridafrom Maryland about nine years ago, so trips to NYC aren't as easy as they were when we lived up north. Still, we began researching flights and hotels, and planning a long weekend with our now 15- and 17-year-old kids in the Big Apple.

Halloween Horror Nights’ Terrifier House Lets Art the Clown Be a Silly Little Guy

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights has been serving up high-quality scares for decades. The fright-inducing Halloween event opened its 34th season on August 29 and just keeps getting better. Case in point: this year’s haunted house lineup, which includes scary walkthrough experiences based on popular intellectual properties like Prime Video’s Fallout TV series, the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, and one of this writer’s favorite horror movie franchises, Damien Leone’s Terrifier.

We Asked 4 Chefs Their Favorite Brand of Broth—They All Said the Same Thing

Stocks and broths have long been used by chefs and home cooks alike in dishes ranging from soups to gravies. While there are slight differences between the two—for example, broth is typically made with bones while stock is made using meat—the liquids have much in common. Broths and stocks are great for braising meats or adding moisture to pasta dishes. Both contain flavorful aromatics like vegetables and herbs, as well as seasonings like salt and black pepper, meaning they can infuse a little extra flavor into your dishes as well.

My Best Friend’s Lasagna Recipe Has Been My Potluck Go-To for 20 Years

I was young, newly married, and teaching myself to cook when a friend invited my husband and me over for dinner. Lasagna was on the menu, and it was more delicious than any lasagna I’d eaten before—including in my own kitchen and at restaurants. This friend, who later became one of my best friends, was a young newlywed, too, so I asked her where she learned to make such a flavorful, decadent lasagna.

I Don't Leave Dollar Tree Without This $1.25 Kitchen Cleaning Product

From Tupperware copycats to affordable grocery finds, Dollar Tree shoppers love sharing their latest favorites from the retail chain on social media. A Dollar Tree lover to my core, I buy everything from spices to kitchen tools at the discount store, and often turn to TikTok for suggestions on things to look out for on my next visit—including the viral silicone bowl covers I’m still trying to track down.

But there’s one item I always find well-stocked at Dollar Tree, despite it receiving lots of great reviews on social media in places like Reddit and TikTok. No, it’s not trendy wooden Mason jar lids or name-brand cans of Poppi soda (yes, you can find those things at Dollar Tree!) My go-to Dollar Tree item is a cleaning product that helps me keep my kitchen tidy.

We spent $260 dining at a 100-year-old steakhouse chain. Our meal at the Orlando location was worth every penny.

The Palm Restaurant is a nearly 100-year-old steakhouse chain that operates close to 20 restaurants in the US, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. The closest location to me, however, is inside the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando.

I'd been to the restaurant before to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat at the bar — it's long been one of my favorite spots to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Universal — but I'd never eaten in the dining room before.

American Murder: Gabby Petito – The Most Important Takeaways from Netflix’s Docuseries

As a parent of teenagers, I often worry about the ramifications of raising my kids in a world filled with influencers, social media, and extreme oversharing. Gabby Petito, who was just 22 when killed by her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie, in 2021, was among the first generations to grow up watching YouTube and counting “likes” on social posts, but I didn’t know that part of her story when news first broke of her disappearance and, later, murder, several years ago.

The 5 Worst Desserts to Buy From Walmart’s Bakery

Walmart is a hot spot for grocery shopping thanks to its low grocery prices and its viral products that pop up on social media (looking at you, Raising Cane’s chicken tender dupes and artisan macaroni and cheese). Whether I’m grocery shopping on a budget or saving time with Walmart grocery delivery, I’ve been a long-time Walmart grocery shopper and have purchased everything at the retail chain, from copycat Big Mac sauce to food storage containers that keep my produce fresh.

Walmart has a pretty big bakery section with lots of treats worth buying, but there are also several items better avoided. I scoured Reddit to see which bakery items Walmart shoppers just don’t think are worth it, from donuts to chocolate cake. Here are five Walmart bakery items that won’t be making it to my grocery shopping list.

Owala Just Dropped New Water Bottle Styles—And They Finally Fix My Teen’s Biggest Design Complaint

It’s been several months since my 14-year-old daughter boxed up all her Stanley tumblers and donated them to make room for her Owala water bottles. My girl swears by them for keeping her water cold for hours and loves that they come in colorful designs. Everyone in my home has now switched to Owala and feels pretty pleased with the brand’s insulated cups, from 40-ounce straw tumblers to 24-ounce screw-top water bottles.

My family has only a couple of critiques about the original tumblers and water bottles. Occasionally, my daughter found the water bottle’s push-button lid open when she carried it to theater rehearsal in her tote bag. She also has an autoimmune disease that causes a great deal of joint pain, so she’d occasionally comment that it was hard for her to hold onto the carrying loop on days when her fingers were swollen.
